Yoga Therapy/ Private Classes
What can a private session offer that’s different than a group class?
In a private session the focus is only on you. There is time for confidential conversation and questions. Each session is an exploration, where practices are modified to meet your particular needs. You’ll leave with a practice written just for you, that suits your needs, capabilities, goals, and timeframe.
What is yoga therapy?
Yoga therapy is a holistic healing discipline that uses a range of tools and techniques to optimize health and support the healing process. Yoga therapy is client centered; the whole person and their life circumstances are taken in to account. The tools and techniques include movement, postures, conscious breathing, meditation techniques, inquiry, and relaxation.
What is yoga therapy good for?
Ultimately, the goal of yoga therapy is to increase freedom. That can mean freedom from pain and discomfort, or dealing with illness and injury in a way that minimizes negative impacts and increases choice. Yoga therapy is great for reducing stress, anxiety and depression, and the limits they set on our lives. Yoga therapy can help us maintain a sense of wellbeing, increase mental and physical stamina, flexibility, and strength, so it’s easier to deal with life’s challenges.
I’m already seeing someone about my problem. How does yoga therapy work with other treatments?
Yoga therapy is a great complement to western medicine, chiropractic, psychotherapy, physical therapy etc. Jeannie will work with your caregiver’s instructions and recommendations to maximize the benefits of your treatment.
How do I schedule a private session and how much does it cost?

Comments from private students:
“The most useful aspect of this experience was being free of pain. I had walked into her studio feeling discomfort from my right shoulder blade to my waist. I walked out of the studio totally pain free!”
“I received an incremental practice based on where the restriction in my shoulders stopped the motion. I learned to explore safe movement without aggravating it. Experimenting with alternate hand, arm, and shoulder positions that did not challenge these restrictions, allowed me to participate in a far greater whole body range of motion.”
“Jeannie made up several sequences that targeted my areas of concern and also showed me how to be more aware and focus on them. She was also very perceptive about some emotional issues I was having and explained how they were related to my practice and how I could use my practice to address them.”
“…the mental breakthrough from a state of grieving soul for a broken body to a state of re-union of my body with my spirit to move on together and find ways to rehabilitate” (student recovering from bad car crash)
