Body Breath Spirit Nature:
Yoga for the Inner and Outer Dimensions of Self
February 4-11, 2012
Ahu Pohaku Ho'omaluhia Retreat Center, Hawaii
Retreat means to step back, to withdraw. The intention of this retreat is to step back and withdraw our energy from the busyness of our daily lives, and step into an exploration of the deepest parts of ourselves.
By nourishing our connection to the Body, to the Breath, to our Spirit, and to the Natural World we learn to intuit and honor the meaning and purpose in our lives. Meaning binds together our inner and outer dimensions. The truth in our hearts finds a home in the world. This is the goal and essence of yoga practice. To live fully in the world; where we are, who we are.
The yoga practices will include asana (movement and posture), pranayama (control of the breath), meditation, relaxation. We will use the Yoga Sutras and traditional yoga models of the nature of reality, to explore themes for self reflection and contemplation. Our journey in, will be nurtured by the supportive environment of the Retreat Center, its intention, the beautiful setting, local, healthy food, the availability of spa services.
