WORKSHOPS AND RETREATS

The promise of practice is to live in harmony with what is, and to be a positive agent in the midst of change. Retreat is a gift of time and space devoted to practice. The Yoga Path offers a variety of local and international retreats aimed at deepening participants practice and understanding of yoga.

Central to the understanding and practice of yoga is discovering our place in the world. At its best, yoga clarifies our relationships to others, our work, the natural environment, and to our selves. The Yoga Path retreats give you the time, tools and support to develop more clarity about your own life path.

PSOAS WORKSHOP
Oct 23,24 and 25
Friday 12-6
Saturday 9-5
Sunday 12-6

I feel very lucky to have Liz Koch coming to the island to teach us about the psoas muscle and its role in well being.

This Workshop is approved by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork for 18 hour(s) of continuing education credit (CEU).

Open to EVERY BODY the workshop provides the time necessary for delving deep within the core to explore the healthy functional iliopsoas. By understanding the psoas and its role in the survival response (flee/fight/freeze) we'll begin a dialog between the iliopsoas complex, autonomic nervous system and reptilian brain (old brain). The iliopsoas muscle affects skeletal integrity, joint rotation, muscular tension, breathing, feelings, and organ functioning.  Understanding the complex iliopsoas improves healing, movement and fitness protocol, reduces stress and plays an integral part in resolving trauma.

This 3-day workshop includes:
Understanding the function of the iliopsoas muscle on all aspects of well-being
Practical experience sensing, releasing, toning, and lengthening your own iliopsoas
Exploring the energetic/emotional/spiritual dynamics of physical core
Recognizing the dysfunctional iliopsoas as an expression of TRAUMA
Recovering and maintaining a healthy iliopsoas muscle
Applying ideas to everyday movement; sitting, driving, and walking
